CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technology to Education
The Web Based Inquiry Project is designed to allow educators to explore how to use both the (NEW) and (TPACK) framework in their subject area. This inquiry based project is a lesson recreation using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Principles. This was one of the first class I really focused on developing a plan for technology within Saline Middle School.

UNDERSTANDING/UNDERSTANDING ASSIGNMENT
Understanding/Understanding is a project which required me to choose a topic and analyze how various individuals make sense of it. Throughout this process this it was clear that there are many reasons why we understand things the way they do. Similar to working with students at the middle school their behavior and actions always have some deeper understanding, such as their experiences, family background, culture, social standing, learning styles, etc. This particular assignment had me wondering "why" am I doing this, this is supposed to be a technology program. But, as I went through this it became more clear that there is so much more to learning. I was realized that learning had as much to do with the psychological principles along with the practical research of the project. This really has helped me understand people much better in my daily life as a building administrator.

3X3X3 READING ASSIGNMENT
Why Don't Students Like School? by Daniel T. Willingham, discusses several psychological strategies to use in schools that enhance education and learning. We were tasked as educators to create two videos that would briefly encapsulate the main ideas of the book. I found this assignment to be very helpful in a number of ways. One, it was a creative way to deliver the content of the book in a pedagogy that was unique. Two, it helped me to learn how to create educational films in a fun and exciting way.

CEP 820: Teaching Students Online
This was one of my favorite courses! CEP 820 focused on Course Management Systems and the importance of them within your teaching. In my role as the building Principal I needed a focus that I have found to be a point of learning. At the middle school level, social media is it! My showcase pieces are two CMS, which focused on Social Media and Digital Citizenship. This actually was helpful and I have had a chance to use a lot of it with our students here at Saline Middle School.
CEP 817: Learning Technology through Design
During my most recent class, CEP 817 I had the chance to really learn about the design of a website. Actually, it was very beneficial and rather sad it was one of my last classes. My showcase is a continuation of social media and being smart online. This continues to be an issue throughout the middle school, but what I have discovered the more you educate the students the less the problems you will have.

DREAMiT PROJECT
My final Showcase piece was “The DreamIT Project” this was part of the summer cohort that was taken at MSU last summer. This was a very intensive project that really culminated the cohort class. We were tasked as educators to solve a problem they see in their own classroom or building and develop a theory to solve it. This project really challenged my thinking and forced me to apply psychological theories, educational theories, and technological theories to the learning environment I work in. I focused on using technology and pedagogy in a much better way when a substitute teacher was present. As a building principal you never really know what type of substitute you will have in a classroom. However, what I do know is that there will be substitutes! My projected focused on keeping the learning flowing while the regular classroom teacher is out.
